我自从1996被赌场驱逐后每年有三大难关: 圣诞夜, 除夕夜和情人节, 因为这都是要和THE SIGNIFICANT OTHER在一起的, BUT I do not have one coz I have been commitment phobia for years.
If I have the courage to invite anyone, she might decline me by saying sorry I have already made my plan and I would then lose my face totally (Given my age, I cannot afford losing my face in front of the young ladies.)
Worse yet, what they did not say could be “Even if I have not yet had a date on the day, I would not date someone more than doubling my age!!!”

How did I solve this problem then? Please read on.
First of all, I did have some girls asking me “How would u spend ur Valentine’s Day?”, which is most likely a subtle signal she may accept my invitation.
I replied “Sorry, I have already made my plan” coz the girls were not up to my standard (Of course, I had an OK back-up just in case no “Qualified” girl asks me the above question.)

In mid-January, a 5-star hotel had a grand opening cocktail reception and the hotel’s marketing girl invited me coz she used to work for Holiday Inn Chongqing’s sales dept. and I rented from her a conference room for my English corners’ “学英语, 进外企, 早日告别五斗米”上海外企精英讲座.
In the 冠盖云集,衣香鬓影的 reception, I met many “Qualified” people and I went on my sales pitch to sell myself to the Qualified ladies AS USUAL.
阿朵(居然同今年春晚最PP的阿朵同名!!!), 重庆某市直文艺团体的舞蹈演员(独舞, 双人舞), 27岁属蛇, 不幸中标, asking me “How would u spend ur Valentine’s Day?”
Since she is Super-Qualified, I said it is impossible for someone as old as me to have a Valentine coz

“I don’t mind coz u r such a Qualified man ”, she said. (Now u know we in Chongqing do have 100 times more opportunities than those men in Shanghai!)
So we promised to each other.
I worried about losing her so I called her several times to discuss the options in spending the evening and nite.
Finally, a dinner at Marriott for RMB 229 per person and a show at another 5-star hotel for RMB 238 per person. Both r the best of its kind in Chongqing. (I remember having a dinner at Rio, a 2nd-class Las Vegas casino, on Dec. 31, 1996 for US$99 per person plus tip and tax, tripling the regular price. Of course, I was sitting with a girl, who used to work in 深圳国贸building and we later spent one week touring the East Coast together.)
The Marriott restaurant was half full (about 50 people, 20 of them r PPMM and 5 Super-Qualified)
The showroom had about 200 people and the show lasted more than 4 hours. In the between-show lucky draw, I continued my Las Vegas luck and won a DVD player (the 2nd luckiest among the audience)
In addition to the DVD, she also took home the gifts from Marriott: a bunch of roses and a small bag of chocolate, and the Valentine’s Day gift from me: CD perfume I bought from HK’s SaSa.
Come on, tell us sth about going to bed!!!
Sorry, I said several times at this BBS that I have not touched any female without an explicit price tag for years!
What did u get from all these then?
1. I solved the problem I stated at the beginning of this writing.
2. As an old/short/fat/ugly man, I was seen accompanied by an eye-catching beauty. (I met 4 people I know this evening: 英国驻重庆领事, 某报女记者, 某大学外事处长, the diving champion I mentioned b4.)
3. I went to the best places to further probe the “market”, which helps me with my continuous updating and calibrating the “market” so that I could be a better consultant for Qualified women in China and Qualified men such as u guys.
4. I showed my dinner tkts and show tkts to a UK returner (female) to apologize for not being able to spend the V-Day with her. I promise to make it up this coming Thursday and I believe I already have an upper-hand in dealing with this new encounter.
5. There must be more, but it is 4 am and my brain stopped working.
How about her photo then???
I showed her the 107 photos in my credit card sized camera to give her a hint on my high standard so that she would feel honored to be chosen. But the side effect is
She did not want me to take her picture.
However, she promised me to give me her dance video since it was being sold in Chongqing video stores.
