Our client is a leading financial services organization that employs 3,000 people worldwide with operations in 14 countries. Through its worldwide subsidiaries, they are among the most active members of futures exchanges around the world, a major broker of cash market products and an asset manager in alternative products. They are also clearing members of all principal U.S. and international futures exchanges.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
President
RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the President, the incumbent is responsible for building business in Asia. Initial coverage includes Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Korea and Singapore. In the future, the sales territory may expand to the Philippines, Malaysia and mainland China.
He / She will also be responsible for the following:
Working collaboratively within a growing team of professionals to build a comprehensive sales and distribution business in the region, for the distribution of an array of alternative products, principally in the managed futures sector
Maintain existing relationships and develop new business relationships with distribution partners and institutional investors
Report to New York headquarters on a regular (i.e. weekly) basis the activities and associated results in a formal structured manner.
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
Currently based in Hong Kong, or willing to relocate to Hong Kong
Significant knowledge of Alternative Investments and/or managed Futures based products
Minimum of 10 years work experience in an environment selling to institutional investors
Familiarity with Private Banking, Private Wealth Management, and other investment firms ( i.e. IFAs) who sell to HNW, Institutional clients including family offices, insurance companies, pension plans
Deep and broad institutional market/product knowledge and relationships
Familiarity with or a commitment to use our Web based client relationship management system
Proven record of selling Hedge Funds and/or Commodity Pools to the Institutional marketplace
Excellent oral, written, presentation and quantitative skills
Proven general management skills and specifically an ability to recognize, analyze and quickly capitalize on strategic opportunities
Ability to speak Mandarin is mandatory – Ability to speak Japanese a plus
Willingness to travel extensively within the selected region (up to 50% of the time)
