companies or sectors because it is impractical. One month I bought Oxford Health Plans; next month I got Waste Management. Three years ago I was deep in Genetech (DNA) and Amgen; two years ago I was in Key Corp and USB (regional banks) and the utility companies. Do I completely understand how those companies operate? No way! I can only do my own dd based on what the companies feed the public. If it was garbage in, then it would be garbage out! I am taking my chances. If I had to wait until thoroughly understanding one company before buying its stock, 黄花菜都凉啦。 俺头发也白啦 ！！Opportunities of making or losing money would be gone 啦！
My business is running ok by itself so far, with no need for further capital infusion.  Golfing? We had rains for the past three weekends. Because it is Friday today, it starts to rain again.
By the way, I know most of that company business quite well. Tyco owns ADT, the largest security company in the world. 90% of Fortune 500 companies use their services. It is 20 times larger than the distant second competitor!
In the past 6 years I had to pay higher and higher prices for its switches and connectors because Tyco took over Alco Switch, Thomson Betts, AMP, Raytech, etc. It is dominating that segment and forces its customers to pay more. I have no other choices!! It is like: you cannot beat him, join him. If you know what I mean. Tyco's health care business is the best segment it has.
I have to admit I am a little too "trigger happy."
