Job Description:
Responsible for the design and implementation of the company's community outreach strategy and programs.
This position may directly manage one or more specific initiatives with the goal of enhancing the Company's image in the community.
This position maintains close and active contact with community leaders to understand the needs of the community and to determine how best the company might provide support.
Specific programs could include the formation of public and/or private partnerships to promote educational attainment among minority students, promotion of entrepreneurship in disadvantaged communities, donations of staff time, company products, and funds to advise school management or non-profit organizations, event sponsorship programs, disaster assistance programs, and other initiatives. Consults with marketing, sales, advertising and HR in order to project the corporate message to both external and internal mediums.
This position may attend events, present awards, and otherwise maintain a high community profile. Works closely with 3rd party NGO's, development agencies, and organizations to identify opportunities and define impactful community programs
Qualifications
You should possess a Bachelor's or/and a Master's degree in Public Administration, Economics, Business, Marketing, Communications. An M.B.A. is preferred and prior corporate and business experience would be an added advantage. You should also possess a 10 years of related work experience. Additional qualifications include:
- Highly motivated self-starter with strategic and planning skills as well as solid execution
- Program management skills and ability to lead and/or influence work across internal and external stakeholders
- Expert knowledge of public affairs methods and practices and of Our company's business environment and technologies
- Ability to build responsible external relationships through a solid grasp of internal and community priorities and to influence and negotiate support and commitment from internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent communication, public speaking, and presentation skills, and the ability to coach management on the appropriate response to community issues
- Lead and work effectively on diverse teams in both direct and matrix reporting environments
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage conflicting and competing priorities and expectations
- Excellent program management across virtual organizations and initiatives that supports Our company objectives
- Self-motivated and able to lead and get work done through others
- Able to work well under pressure within a team environment and with all levels of management, as well as work independently and proactively with minimal direction
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills in Chinese and English
- Expertise in strategic planning, project management, event planning, crisis management and team development
- Knowledge of all aspects of public affairs disciplines and local community and existing contacts would be an added advantage
