Technical Director



Technical Effort Management



Promotes and coordinates technical knowledge harvesting within the organization.

Manages multiple technical teams within budget and project schedule.

Interface directly with product manager, sales team and technical team to identify, develop, and formulate electrolytes for use in the manufacture of primary and secondary lithium batteries.

Offers technical support across Technical service and Sales teams offering definition and positioning.

Suggests alternative technical solutions to meet client requirements efficiently.

Develops new products within Novolyte capabilities.

Tracks and identifies new opportunities to improve our formulations competencies and success rate.

Assists in strategic sales efforts from a technical perspective and consistently delivers high-quality services to our clients.

Assesses, recommends and implements partnerships, licensing agreements with public and/or private research organizations as well as customers working in the field of novel solvents / salts / polymer electrolytes for lithium batteries.

Attends main trade shows and other related events to keep up with current market and technology trends in the area of lithium batteries and in electrochemical energy management devices (i.e. capacitors, fuel cells).

Requirements:



• PhD degree in electrochemistry or Chemistry

• 7 years minimum industrial experience in lithium ion batteries

• Lab experience with electrochemical measurements (analytical, applications)

• Lab experience with air-sensitive and moisture-sensitive reactions and processes

• Experience with computers systems (i.e., design of experiments, molecular modeling)

• Several years experience with fluorine and / or lithium chemistry

• Design and synthesis of lithium salts, ionic liquids, battery additives, ionic/electronic conductive polymeric materials and membranes

• 7 years minimum management of high level technical personnel

• Strong integrity, with proven and demonstrated verbal and written English skills in a team environment
