Title: Category Manager, Leisure
Mission:
According to requests, the Category Manager is responsible of implementation the sourcing strategy and ensures its application by his merchandising team. It includes supplier's management, products development, price competitiveness, quality and legal compliance, delivery performance.
The Category Manager supports the merchandisers in the sourcing of key priority categories and on key suppliers management.
The CM ensures the coordination and communication category Manager and buyers.
The CM ensures that the sourcing strategies advised by the Department Manager are strictly followed by his team.
The CM drives & follows up Global Sourcing opportunities.
The CM ensures that Global Sourcing is applied across all his categories.
Main Responsibilities:
Category Manager is responsible for the implementation of the Sourcing and Commercial strategy decided by Dept Manager and GM. Category Manager is responsible for the implementation and follow up of the company procedures and process across his team.
Category Manager anticipates and defines customer’s needs at category level, develop solutions that meet customer needs and assists QA team in the quality management of vendors. "Customer" is used here in its broadest sense (external customer) but also refers to "internal customers" (hierarchical managers, other departments, etc.).
Category Manager identifies and promotes best practice; drives change and lead the collaboration of different teams across the office (QA, Compliance, Operation team).
Category Manager leads the Global Sourcing strategy across the liaison offices.
Category Manager recruits his team together with Department Manager, set objectives and action plans and develops the team already in place.
Category Manager measures and analyzes risk management and financial opportunities. CM helps Department Manager in setting budget proposals and pursues the budget achievement with highest profitability for the company.
Qualifications:
Business School / Int’l Trade Master / Degree holder in BA or related disciplines.
8 to 12 years exp. In a purchasing / management position.
Experience of products such as Camping, Garden Furniture, fitness, sports, Bicycle and Bicylce accessories, Luggage
Fluent English both oral and writing.
Exp. In Production process is an advantage.
Familiar with European market & European safety regulations and norms.
Multi-Cultural Management & Communication.
Frequent travel to Asia and Overseas is required.
Flexible working time in order to adjust to special situation.
