Position Title: Operations Director – North & East China
Position Location: Shanghai, China
Reporting Structure: Group CEO in Hong Kong
The Company
The Company is a diversified business conglomerate, in the trading and distribution of food & consumer products in the Greater China region. It supplies and distributes a wide range of food and major international brands of FMCG, frozen & chilled meat and seafood, edible oils, beverages, etc. to retailers, wholesalers and caterers.
The Position
The incumbent, reporting to the Group CEO, will be the executive-in-charge, being responsible for managing the Group’s food and consumer products businesses in eastern and northern China in achieving the sales, distribution, income and growth objectives. He/She will be responsible for a total workforce of about 700 staff members, including those working in joint venture setups, processing/packaging plant, and logistics centre.
Specifically, the incumbent will –
• Develop and implement the strategies and plans in achieving the sales, distribution and income objectives.
• Identify, evaluate and pursue opportunities, with a long-term vision, for robust business growth.
• Build and maintain good relations with government bodies, trade / industry associations, principals and business partners.
• Manage risks and ensure compliance with legal, industry and corporate requirements.
• Leverage the resources in the regions/business units in optimizing synergy.
• Collaborate with Group functional experts in achieving excellence in operations.
• Be responsible for the operational and business results of the operation in the region.
Requirements:
• University degree in business, MBA preferred.
• At least 10 years’ experience at a senior management level managing diverse businesses in a sizable organization or MNC.
• Proven track records of success in business management and development.
• Familiar with the food and consumer products trading, and distribution as well as logistics business in China.
• Familiar with the processes of identifying and executing effective mergers & acquisitions.
• Good communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Fluency in English and Mandarin
