William Hung, the very first loser from the recent
American idol show on Fox who sang “She bangs”,
is one the most well-known Chinese in American
history. His celebrity status overshadows many in
this country not because of his being famous, but
being infamous. His buck-teeth portrait is all
over the internet. His accented greeting message
on his answer machine is played over and over
on the most popular radio station – Z100 - in
New York. He has been on almost every single
talk show from the major networks. He recorded
his first album…and he is getting rich. So what?
Almost simultaneously, stared by Tom Cruise, the
Japanese heroic film The Last Samurai quietly
hits the theaters throughout this country.
American seem have forgotten what they used to
call “Japs”, were their enemy No. 1 over 50 years
ago and embrace the new J fad in every single way.
With Yankees and Mets are both started with
Japanese players, who only speak Japanese publicly,
Japanese are as welcomed as William Hung.
Sadly, loser is wooed for his stupidity, idiotism,
bucked teeth, the slumped shoulders and what-so-ever….
The Chinese image is continuously taking the beat
like the cheap shoes and sweats stuffed
in Wal-Mart.
