The governor's Press Office announced last week that the governor aimed to introduce California's tourism, farm products, industrial products and service industry to China during his visit. Detailed schedule of the visit would be released later.
Arnold Schwarzenegger, who was successfully elected governor of California two years ago, vowed to invigorate his state's economy by resolving California's big budget deficit.
According to official statistics by the California government, its exports to China in 2004 amounted to 4.5 billion US dollars, making it China's sixth largest trade partner.
According to observers, Arnold Schwarzenegger, with a good head for finance and investment, is targeting the tremendous consumer markets associated with Beijing's 2008 Olympic Games. His visit would not only send up a trial balloon for Californian companies to enter the Chinese market, but encourage Chinese to invest in and travel to California.
