RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Develop hardware department program and resource plans for multi-phase programs
• Drive project schedules and priorities, coordinate with geographically distributed teams, and manage projects on-time and within budget
• Provide accurate and timely status reports and contingency plans to program leadership teams
• Develop and coordinate contingency plans, handle all aspects of program risk management
• Manage the budget and resources per the BU priorities and program schedules
• Provide guidance and implementation support for standard compliance procedures
• Provide guidance and implementation support of Cisco’s Best Practices
• Responsible for hiring, developing and retaining top talent and mentor junior members in the team
• Mentor and provide guidance to team members and foster strong team communication in China and US
• Collaborate with and support the priorities of the development teams to ensure the BEST quality of hardware and excellent Customer Satisfaction
• Review Product Requirements Document, System Functional and Design Specifications, Diagnostic Test Plans and other relevant documentation to ensure proper program execution
• Keep up with new technologies and developments in hardware engineering to ensure high productivity and high quality
• Travel occasionally, attend frequent off-hour meetings with remote Cisco teams
• Work closely with JDM (Joint Development Manufacturer) vendors and manage the joint development activities including hardware development, testing, EMI/EMC testing, EDVT and MDVT procedures driving Cisco quality and best practices
• Work closely with CM (Contract Manufacturers) to bring designs in to mass production, and support diagnostic and failure analysis activity
SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Platform development including design and architecture of hardware modules, timing analysis, system and module testing. At least 5 years of recent progressive experience of hardware development and taking the product till FCS. Excellent understanding of digital hardware design, power design, audio, high speed interfaces, timing analysis and signal integrity issues. Understanding of analog electronic concepts and EMC. Familiarity with Concept schematic capture, Allegro PCB design, Signal Integrity simulation, and Verilog HDL. Experience with high volume run products with High Quality. Experience in delivering high quality hardware design by enforcing processes in the development cycle. Must have oral and written fluency in Mandarin and English. Superior work ethic and understanding the US and China cultures. Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, problem solving, and decision making skills. Experience dealing with 3rd party vendors and silicon vendors. Must have a proven track record in supporting customer issues. Excellent problem-solving skills under the real-time complex situations. Able to take an ambiguous situation and drive to closure.
Solid understanding of the complete hardware development and support life cycle. In-depth knowledge of the design, testing and deploying IP network based products. Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
Education
Typically requires MSEE/CS combined with 8+ years of related experience, or BSEE/CS combined with 10+ yrs related experience in internetworking technologies and applications.
