Technical Operations / Technical Operations Engineer – System and Network Administrator

Typical duties
• Enterprise System Administration in a mixed Windows and Linux environment
• EMC storage (SAN and NAS) administration.
• Monitoring all critical systems
• Deploy, setup and maintain enterprise grade hardware from various manufactures (HP, IBM, Dell, and more). This also covers lab support to local and remote lab.
• Deploy, setup and maintain enterprise virtual machines
• Manage core network resources (switch fabric, DNS, DHCP, NTP, PXE servers).
• Deploy, setup and maintain enterprise grade ethernet switch hardware from various manufacturers (Extreme, Cisco, NetGear).
• Setup or maintain other infrastructure equipment such as UPS, Avocent product, and KVM console Panel.
• Maintain the Engineering standard desktops including Windows, Linux & vSphere system
• Troubleshooting the Engineering Virtual Machines.
• Manage requests on a ticketing system.
Job description/requirements
• Basic understanding of SAN and NAS architecture
• Experience with AD domain architecture planning, implementation and maintenance
• Experience with DHCP, DNS, File, Print, and Proxy server administration
• Experience with Server Monitoring & Alerting
• Strong Linux experience, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
• Strong Windows experience, Server 2003/2008, and XP in particular.
• Intermediate knowledge of scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, or vbscript.
• Good troubleshooting and diagnostic skills on a variety of hardware.
• Have good understanding of networking.
• Able to do VLAN setting, network segmentation.
• Able to use network monitoring tool (WinPcap, LANguard, Sniff) to do troubleshooting is a plus.
• Candidate should be able to describe, diagnose, and fix common switch level (and wiring level) issues.
• Bachelor degree or higher, with majoring in computer relevant subject.
• Have 6 ~ 8 years of working experience of IT job, and included with 4 ~ 6 years of working experience on system administration or computer lab/data center support job.
• Experience with VMware product is a plus
• Both English listening and speaking should be good.
• Good technical communication skills, ability to communicate with engineering community.
• Ability to work both independently with little supervision as well as in a team environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
