Our Client
Our client is a newly established early stage investment fund with a focus on the clean tech sector. Their aim is globalize and commercialize clean-tech technologies with a strong focus on the China market. With a proven track record and a fully raised fund, they are now seeking a strategy Director to form an integral part of the management team
Job Description
Reporting to the fund MD you will be a key strategic and technology partner on all China (and regional) investment opportunities. As a strategist and innovator, you will identify commercial investment opportunities and build channel relationships across industries related to renewable energy.
Specifically, you will:
Source, identify and model investment opportunities across China and the region.
Create innovative commercialization strategies for both in-bound and outbound technologies
Develop relationships across the clean-tech spectrum, including with business, NGO's, governments and finance
Lead a small team of investment and engineering professionals
Report on a regular basis to the fund investment committee
Succesful Applicant
To qualify for such a role you will need to possess the following attributes:
An advanced degree in Engineering from a recognized university - (Msc/Phd - as well as an MBA.
Have at least 10 years professional experience, with at least 3 within the consulting and strategy field.
A period working with a top strategy firm would be highly regarded
Have a broad and evangelical knowledge of the clean-tech sector - ideally as a recognized and published professional.
A proven track record of creating innovative and commercially viable solutions to business and technical issues.
Be comfortable working in a international team and able to thrive in a flat structured start-up environment
A fluent English and Mandarin speaker
