Title of position: Marketing – Promotion and Communication Manager
Department: East China Cluster Trade and Marketing Department
Reports to: East China Cluster Marketing Manager
Location: Shanghai
Purpose & general responsibilities of the position:
•Inform and persuade the market about ML’s products/services, using advertising, public relation, mass marketing, campaign, newsletter, client advisory, customer interests group, homepage, events and exhibitions.
•Balance promotion through marketing means and through sales personal selling.
•Preserve and promote ML’s branding and image in PRE market.
•Shape and execute ML’s external communication strategy in PRE market. Assist cluster top and functional manager’s external communication to media.
Specific responsibilities of the position:
1.Campaign
•Build up an annual campaign plan, integrating theme, schedule, impact, resource, channel and platform.
•Work closely together with market mapping team, trade managers, sales function and overseas counter parts to proactively determine (and/or adjust) the right campaign to launch at the right time which can generate maximum business return.
•Act as focal person towards centre campaign team to assist to launch global campaigns.
•Integrate campaign into sales process.
2.Tele-marketing
•Manage tele-marketing team to assist and support campaign effort; and other marketing initiative as needed.
•Ensure proper resource planning of tele-marketing team to maximize output and to minimize cost.
•Build up tele-marketing team as a strong pipeline for permanent staffing.
3.Event and exhibition
•Maintain an overview on influential industry event and exhibition and establish network with event and exhibition organizer.
•Recommend to cluster trade and marketing manager on the right event to participate or organize to promote ML products and services, balancing cost and benefit.
•Act as event master for all external commercial related events.
4.Brochures and promotional items
•Develop and ensure supply of general promotional materials including generic brochures, selling tool kits, promotional items.
•Develop ad-hoc promotional materials as needed by commercial organization.
•Be accountable for professional standard, accuracy, timeliness and relevance of promotional materials.
5.External Communication
•Act as focal person for all external related communications in PRE.
•Be responsible to write cluster level external client advisory.
•Act as focal point to centre communication team to effectively and efficiently deliver global message to cluster market.
•Act as PRE focal point for communication with press. Assist cluster top with his speech preparation for press.
6.Media and government relationship
•Maintain good relationship with SSE and trade media to keep abreast of latest industry development and regulation.
•Be responsible for all filing requests with SSE (Shanghai Shipping Exchange).
•Maintain a network with media through GOV team in Beijing. Get media involved into promoting ML business in PRE in a proactive and professional manner.
7.Home page
•Be responsible to maintain and update Websites PRE related contents. Act as backup to Websites maintenance team.
•Own PRE trade and marketing home page. Establish and maintain it as an effective and user friendly site.
Measurement / success criteria of the position:
•New business generated through promotion effort.
•Internal customer satisfaction.
•ML brand recognition in the market.
•Process maturity.
•Promotional cost.
Specific requirements for the position:
•Bachelor degree and above, advanced education in MBA or market related major is a plus.
•Minimum 3 years marketing experience in multi-national companies focus on branding and promotion.
•Strong verbal and written communications skills in both Chinese and English.
•Strong creative and presentation skills.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build internal/external partnerships at different levels and demonstrate corporate professionalism.
•Capabilities to development and execution of marketing strategies.
•Responsible, self-motivated, resourceful and energetic.
•Have advanced working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop and ideally Illustrator, web savvy.
•E-marketing experience is a plus.
