The successful candidate will be part of a team developing protocol software for Spirent's industry leading 4G network simulation applications for mobile device testing. Position involves the development of state machine based network protocol processing using Microsoft Windows based application software or Power PC embedded software; or the development of scripts which perform various protocol stack functions and procedures. This also includes the integration of hardware and software. The successful candidate will implement new products as well as enhancements to existing products and have leadership responsibilities.
Major Responsibilities:
1) Design and implementation of protocol software for 4G (includes 3G and 2G) network simulation applications.
2) Design specification, implementation and testing of embedded and applications software for test instruments.
3) Development of state machine based or script based network protocol processing.
4) Development of Microsoft Windows based application software, PowerPC embedded software, or equivalent.
Requirement:
-BSEE/BSCE required. MSEE/MSCE desired.
-Minimum 8 years of experience in a similar position in related technologies.
-Strong familiarity with LTE/UMTS/CDMA wireless communication technologies and a high aptitude for both physical layer and protocol layer details related to RF communication networks. In-depth knowledge of L1/L2 procedures and the utilization of them is highly desirable.
-Experience with design verification testing of wireless terminals is desired; experience with script-based network simulators also desired.
-Strong knowledge of structured software design practices.
-Candidate must have working knowledge of Microsoft C# and/or object oriented design and programming.
-Microsoft .NET or PowerPC based WindRiverVxWorks experience desirable.
-Data network protocols (TCP/UDP/SIP) experience desirable.
