Job description – Communication specialist
An international management consulting firm, seeks experienced communications professionals to join its practice in BJO. Successful candidates would work with our consultants and clients to:
• Edit documents in a various formats, such as letter of proposals, client memorandums and other documents, to ensure they meet communication objectives and audience needs, express ideas clearly and logically in words and graphics, and adhere to Firm format.
• Edit the XXX Chinese Quarterly. Be responsible for the overall quality of the Quarterly. This will involve coordinating and coaching the outside translators, editing translations, and reviewing the final product.
• Help the consulting team to define communication objectives, identify audience needs, and develop effective communication strategies, documents, and events to meet those objectives and needs.
• Strengthen consultants’ written and oral communication skills through training workshops and one-on-one coaching.
• Further develop Communication function in Great China Office
To enjoy this role, you should thrive on intellectual challenge, and be adept at managing deadlines and priorities. You should have a passion for clear, compelling prose and charts, and be able to apply rigorous logic as well as take creative leaps. You must be confident of commanding respect from demanding colleagues and clients, and equally comfortable working in a team or on your own.
We welcome applications from the candidates who, in addition to having the characteristics described above, are:
• Outstanding writers and editors of Chinese and English, with at least three years’ experience in a deadline-driven workplace.
• Communication expert, expressing complex ideas clearly and logically in words and graphics across various media, including reports, presentations, workshops, and multimedia.
• Comfortable speaking to groups, preferably with experience teaching adults.
• Computer literate, with some sense of how information technology can aid (and complicate) communication.
Experience in organizational communication and/or visual communication would be a plus, as would an advanced degree in business, English, journalism, or writing.
