Title: Technology Program Manager
Location: Shanghai, China
Responsibilities:
Reporting to Motors Technology Manager, this individual will be responsible for working closely with the motors plants in China, India Business Center and also North America engineering.
Responsibilities include:
1. Working with suppliers on electrical and mechanical designs (DC motors, appliance motors).
2. Support NPI (New Product Introduction) by working with new or existing plants to get new electrical designs.
3. Identify material/labor cost saving projects at various M&C plants in China.
4. Lead technical support for the sourcing organization in finding new suppliers and cost out projects with current vendors to support China plants, India Business Center, and North America engineering/manufacturing operations.
5. Prototype new designs at various China plants.
6. Work with cross-functional, global teams to resolve customer related, product, and process issues.
7. Assist in preparing functional specifications as part of NPI process.
8. Train engineers at various China facilities on electrical design and mechanical design.
Requirements:
1. BS in EE(Electrical Engineering) equivalent experience
2. 3+ years of technical experience in designing electric motors (DC traction Motor)
3. Self-motivated, strong customer focused behavior
4. Strong team player with demonstrated ability to work in a cross-functional, global team to deliver common goals
5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (must be able to communicate effectively in English (written and oral)
6. Strong PC skills (WEB based applications, MS Office, AutoCAD, ProE )
Desired Requirements:
7. 5+ years design and/or application experience with electric motors
