IT manager
Key responsibility:
-Provide guidance to the team for infrastructure design and support;
-Manage the team to provide best-in-class service for server/storage/database;
-Understand Software and Hardware engineering and direct resource to meet their project needs;
-Bring engineering Business Units together for collaboration where appropriate to make best use of resources;
-Coordinate with Director, Engineering Support for collaboration and standardization on technology, processes and procedures ' giving guidance and direction where appropriate;
-Participate in the design of disaster recovery plan and drive the relevant areas of implementation when approved;
-Manage the team to minimize security risks and comply with IT governance in order to improve efficiency and obtain and retain SOX compliance;
-Continually improve effectiveness of operational support.
Define and manage local IT projects and collaborate on cross site projects.
-Prepare and manage Regional IT budget
Skills and Experience Requirements:
-BSc in Computer Science or Engineering degree or higher in any field
-Minimum 10 years in a Unix-based engineering environment.
-Clear understanding of the engineering environment in a semi-conductor company; Clear affinity with engineers at all levels; Proven ability to work with engineers when appropriate and to negotiate on critical and contentious issues; Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization ' inside and outside engineering; Team management skills ' including mentoring and developing of junior personnel.
-Experience in the following areas :Unix/Linux/Networking/CAD;
Configuration, upgrades, maintenance of both hardware and software in a Solaris / Linux environment; NIS, NFS/automount, DNS, and network 'LAN/WAN/Internet/VPN'; Customization/building Linux kernels; Shell or Perl programming; Router/switch configuration; Manage CAD tool and license environment (Optional)
-Windows 2003 Server Environment; Active directory administration; Exchange; Networking services DHCP, DNS; Configuration of Windows 2K, and XP desktop systems.
-Storage Environment; Network Appliance administration; Veritas Volume Manager;
-Veritas NetBackup; Veritas Cluster Server
-Miscellaneous; Telephone switch configuration and support; Manage cell phone, blackberry, calling card and conference bridge vendors and services; Server room facilities management; Compute purchasing for IT & end User; Manage various support contracts
