The location will be in HK,Shanghai or Beijing
The position is responsible for managing Asia Pacific Import and Export trade activity including support and consultation to ***'s APJ business units and external business partners. The position must understand and clearly communicate ***'s APJ Custom and trade requirements as well as influence regional business partners and officials to transact ***'s business models. An advanced and detailed APJ Custom import and export trade knowledge is required to practically integrate ***'s operations and manage ***'s products, services and business ventures.
Skills required:
Understands ***'s general business strategy and processes and how they differ from competitors; responsible for achieving goals that may affect costs, personnel and deadlines. Manages complex activities associated with analyzing the impact of domestic and international custom and indirect tax laws on business decisions, understands implications of changes in custom import/export and indirect tax laws on business operations involved with directing the implementation of strategies to minimize corporate import and export and indirect tax and ensure accurate and timely custom compliance. Manages vendors, consultants and legal agents and/or staff to execute work activities. Manage projects, programs or functions including job performance to*** standards. Receives assignments in the form of objectives and establishes milestones to meet objectives. Is capable of delegating assignments to both internal and external parties. Evaluates and sells alternative solutions, effectively influencing outcomes. Discusses and makes technical presentations concerning specific projects or business issues. Responsible for achieving goals that will affect costs, personnel and deadlines in the organization and is viewed as a technical resource by peers in the same organization and across various functions. Partners with client groups in a team setting to take ownership of their business objectives and to provide technical expertise in developing their business strategy. Establishes and recommends changes to policies which affect the various organizations. Interprets and administers company policies that directly affects ***'s trade business. Is accountable for employees following import/export and trade policies.
Qualifications:
-Minimum 7+ years demonstrated work experience in import-export Customs and trade and indirect tax compliance, preferable in a high tech multinational company
-Working knowledge APJ Custom and trade practices, trade restrictions and anti-boycott legislation
-Added benefit to understand US and/or EMEA custom requirements
-Excellent analytical, written, verbal and interpersonal skills
-Ability to clearly communicate and define technical trade standard regulations to non-Custom and trade audiences
-Proactive approach to problem resolution, a self-starter and cross-functional and internal team contributor
-Strong project management skills with constrained deadlines
-Excellent computer desktop applications and internet/intranet skills
-BA/BS in international business, MBA preferred or regional international equivalents
-Custom import and export or governmental trade agency or equivalent experience required
-Multilingual: English and other Asian language i.e. Mandarin
