即北美是中国的宁波人经过 Bering Sea 到达阿拉斯加首次发现的，因此起名：阿拉世界（您用上海话读读看！）  I hope it is not too far-fetched!
最近读了一本书，1421年，找到了根据。
1421 The Year China Discovered the World

The ships, huge junks nearly five hundred feet long and built from the finest teak, were under the command of Emperor Zhu Di's loyal eunuch admirals. The journey would last over two years and circle the globe.
