Job Requirements & Skills Required
Above 3 years WebSphere Portal administration experience. Should be able to implement
WebSphere Portal Administration:
• Demonstrate the use of the different WebSphere Portal administration facilities (administration portlets, xm<x>lAccess, and wpsc<x>ript).
• Create and manage pages.
• Deploy and manage portlet applications.
• Work with Web Services for Remote Portlets (WSRP).
• Manage user access to portal resources through the WebSphere authorization mechanism.
• Implement virtual portals, with and without realm support.
• Install WebSphere Portal.
• Configure WebSphere Portal to use a databa<x>se and LDAP directory server.
• Create a horizontally clustered collection of WebSphere Portal nodes
• Deploy resources (portlets, themes and skins) to a clustered environment.
• Troubleshoot a WebSphere Portal installation.

WebSphere Application Server Administration:
• Relate WAS to the WebSphere family of products both version 6 as well as future releases
• Describe architectural concepts related to current releases of WAS
• Install and configure current releases WAS (ba<x>se and Network Deployment)
• Explain the basic concepts of the Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE)
• Assemble and install server-side Java enterprise applications
• Use WAS administrative tools to configure and manage enterprise applications
• Configure security for server-side application resources
• Deploy applications in clustered environments
• View performance information about server and application components
• Use problem determination tools and log files to troubleshoot problems

Good understanding of the concept of ITIL (Change management etc)
Good understanding of high availability environments, experience of managing live Web hosting Environments
Excellent knowledge in -UX, LINUX, TRU 64 and other Unix derivates, UNIX Certified is preferred
Good Project management skills. Ability to coordinate tasks with several people, teams, departments;
Ability to negotiate with external customers, internal suppliers / departments.
